Glock 23 with FMJ and hollowpoint ammo. Special ammo: 2 mags (24 rounds) of silver/iron mix fragmentation ammo hes carried for several years.
Heavily modded AR-15 with standard ammo. CQB sight, foregrip and collapsible stock.
Profession:
Arcanist: As a master witch Randal has studied most schools of magic in depth. He has the equivalent of a PhD in matters of magic. This does not reference spell casting and power, and does in no way change his casting ability. it is purely on the academic matters of magic. The nature of magic, how it works, why it works how it does. He has vast knowledge of how things work magically and could be a great starting point for figuring out a magical problem.
Other Skills:
1) Paramedic. Randal served in the army as a combat medic. Once he left the service he became a paramedic, He has been licensed as a EMT in several states in the US. But at this time, is NOT licensed in BC. But retains all his skills.
2) Soldier: Randal served in the US Army as a combat medic for a number of years, serving over seas for two tours with honor. He possesses all the skills of a modern military infantryman. Nearly all of his more tactical skills have become so rusty they are basically useless at this point. But he has remained proficient with his side arm. Since moving to BC he has knocked off the rust with his rifle.
3) Painter: Randal has a lot of pent up things in his brain. Lots of memories of dead bodies and other not so nice things. Aside from smoking plenty of weed he took up painting in the army. Turns out hes pretty good at it. Even better when hes a little high. He takes odd jobs doing landscape paintings and murals. He is talented enough to paint professionally but chooses to to just use it for his own relaxation. If he backed up the painting with a little magic he could create vivid almost eerily beautiful art.
Powers:
1) Ley Walker: Randal knows the importance of stealth and is fully aware of how his body changes and personality issues can make him a target. As such he has tapped into the latent magics of the valley and can travel along the eddies of magic. He can teleport around the valley. He must be going somewhere he knows extremely well. Generally he would have to appear somewhere large and open as if he appears somewhere full of items he could loose a leg or die if he appears inside of an object. The greater the distance of the walk, the further off he will be from his target. So unless in great danger he would only use this power to save his life. This power counts as one of his daily advanced spells and requires two posts to cast. Any interruption will cause the spell to either fizzle or he will be flung in a random direction, possibly leading to great injury or death.
Weaknesses:
1) Weird: Randal has been through a lot in his life. First in the army. He spent a lot of time patching his friends back together. Once he left the service and began training his magic they pushed him hard, too far actually. And he saw some things. What ended up happening was a mild case of PTSD mixed with some magical weirdness in his head. The end effect is him being slightly detached from reality. He sees the entire world through a very Randal set of lenses. His very odd behavior tends to make him stick in peoples minds and could easily draw hunter attention to him and make him an easy target. Or make it harder for him to understand a seemingly normal thing as he sees it very strangely.
2) Unstable magic. Randal has pushed hard with his magic. His teacher was crazier then he was and thus they took risks.. Many of which were unneeded risks. While Randal's magic is extremely potent its unstable. His odd colored and glowing eyes are the best example of his magic being entirely unstable at times. The side effects on his body can either make him ill, harm him or change his body forever. He has had spells blow up in his face for no good reason. Usually ones he has not figuring out how to tweak for his own unique magics.
3) Addictive personality: Randal gets obsessed with things pretty easy. It could be a video game, or a book series.. or booze and drugs. Combined with his other mental issues it can lead to total train wrecks and obsessive behavior.
4) Allergic to Chocolate: Sometimes there is such a thing as too much of a good thing... Randal used Chocolate as a happy place in the Army... to the point his body started rejecting it.. Hes never gotten over it.. it makes him sad. Sometimes he will just eat it anyway and hug his epipen...
5) Magical body mod: Randal has had a couple of accidents with magic lately. The worst one being his eyes. He was trying to cure his extreme near sighted issues. While he managed to do so he ended up with dual hue glowing eyes that he has to hide behind sunglasses or blindfolds. Cause in the dark you cant miss him coming with those glowing eyes. Provided he is not hiding them, it would be impossible for him to be stealthy as anyone looking his way would spot him instantly. The other visible body mod is his very rapidly graying hair. He is a fairly young man still, but you would not know it looking at his hair. And its going to keep getting more white as time goes on, making his face memorable.
6) Bleeding heart: Randal cares about people. First as a paramedic and now as a witch of healing. In the army he had a bad habit of running into the line of fire, thinking nothing of his own safety to rescue someone, friend or foe. Nothing has changed from his army days. if there is a way he can help someone with his unique skills. He will even at great cost to himself. He has already done immense harm to himself through his magic and still doesn't let that stop him.
7) Cold is bad: Randal is from Arizona. Try as he might he has not adapted to the cold. hes cold in the 50s and when it gets colder he will have to start resorting to magic to stay warm, Draining his power if hes stuck outside for any amount of time.
8) Arcane thinking: Randal cut him self off from the world when he moved north. With his magic growing so quickly he started abandoning mundane things to use magical things in their place. Things that should be simple, end up not as he will try to find a magical way to deal with them. Example. Currently its very cold in the witch hut. There is a stove, a perfectly good wood burning stove. But Randal is trying to figure out how to make it a magistove. And freezing his butt off in the process instead of going to get firewood.
